What a great idea, Alexander. I would much rather listen to your voice than read this book. I will listen to this first part this evening. But, um, let me know when you put Lady Chatterly's Lover on your reading list...
Thanks, Sharron! Lady Chatterly! It is indeed on the list of 1001 classic books (in Public Domain) I want to record before I kick the bucket, you know, join the choir invisible, pushing up the daisies and all that. I may have to speed up the recording quota! 😅
I am enjoying reading slowly each day, but I think I will use these recordings when it's time to recap a larger section of the book. Thanks for your work!
I tried to read the book in high school and gave up fast by its sheer volume. Now I'll get to sit back and listen to you instead. Very immersive reading!
XD I don't know how the readers and listeners are supposed to understand long sentences from dialogue of foreign languages. The author didn't quite think it through. Hmm!
The reading is very well done. I invested in this edition of “War and Peace” during Covid under the assumption that, now was as good a time as any. But I haven’t gotten around to it. So this is a pleasant surprise.
Thanks a lot, Daniel! It was a surprise to me as well, I didn't plan on doing War and Peace now but Simon's project was the motivator I needed, albeit Nineteen Eighty-Four will take longer to record now but it's coming, too. All the classics. Will take a fair bit of time.
Good reading, Alexander! This will be good. Looking forward to listening.
Thanks, Ron. Glad you enjoy it! Know someone else who might want to listen? Share share share! 😁

Thank you, Holle. Great to hear you find it useful! Enjoying the slow read tremendously as well!

Thank you , Nadia! Let me know if I botched the Rrrrrussian prrrronunciations! Chapter 4 was the most challenging thus far!
You got it! It's no fun without a challenge ;P.
yeah, including Italian! 😅 Crazy book!

You need the book then while listening, it has the translated bits at the bottom 😂
Hah, well, that is help! :D Fortunately I do know French and Russian. Phew. The rest will be lost in translation.
