The intrigue remains, along with the lacing of some great humour, the moment with the bumbling, obsequious guard especially. (I had the start of The Sandman flicker through my head thinking of a guard guarding something below a house.)

Hah! I can see the Sandman analogy! A cage guarded underground, it’s not the Sandman, though ;) It’s not a regular cage either, it’s a soul cage. Usually, bad news, unless... you are Not-Carter! Part Two will answer many questions early on. Only to raise new ones. We will find out sometime in Q4!
