This is absolutely bonkers, Alexander, in a good way. I have no idea what any of it signifies, but who cares? Most of life is like that. One pill makes you larger, one pill makes you small ... and be really, really suspicious of Mrs. Beaver's cookies...

Ahh, yes, the cookies. Special, those are. ;) Thanks Sharron. Glad you enjoyed the little nonsense Wonderworld.

Smiled throughout this. Very entertaining and playful twist within the wonderland 😁

I'd never heard of a Wolpertinger (had to google and look up the translation) before! I learnt some mythology!

The main prerogative: made you smile. Mission accomplished. Ah yes, Wolpertinger are a Bavarian folklore, I did not want to add any notes, leaving it up to the reader whether they wanted to find out more. The curious do! ;)

Mission definitely accomplished :D

Oh! Gotta get my paws on one of those cookies!! Always up for a trip through the looking glass... :)

Thanks, Troy! You sure about the cookies? They pack a punch! :)

Forced to drink coffee and sugar...hmm, what does this signify? A Starbucks world? An overhyped universe?

Intriguing play with Alice, Alexander! Like the picture, too.

Thanks, Kate. I wanted to do this for some time, thought easter is a good time for it. As to the significance, interesting to see you picking up on the "consume" thread and what significance does the Wolpertinger Bavarian Myth hold in regard to that? Or just some fun nonsense.

Expand full comment

Does it?? I have no idea! I don’t know much about the myth. I have looked it up…I can’t find anything about coffee 😆

Expand full comment

😅 no, Wolpertingers and Coffee isn't a thing, greed is, consuming all, but also power and freedom, kind of a Pharmakon. Fun fact. I designed a Wolpertinger Pet quest for World of Warcraft as part of the yearly Brewfest event, based on my design document.

Wow, that is a fun fact!

I’m happily confused.

Confused and happy! Like I was when I found out about that NPC named Ipfelkofer Ironkeg :)

And upon reading that, some readers were of the opinion that genetic engineering had INDEED gone a few steps too FAR.....

Beware of the Wolpertinger! Thanks for reading, Daniel.

I WILL NOT ASK WHAT A WOLPERTINGER IS.

I WILL NOT ASK WHAT A WOLPERTINGER IS.....

I WILL NOT ASK WHAT A WOLPERT.....

Ah, damn, a typo?! I can’t believe it. I’m so disappointed in myself.

Wednesday sounds great. No pressure, though. 😉

A story every Wednesday, that's the deal at TFTD for the past 55 weeks, gotta keep that streak! ;)

In that case...may the force be with you. 🐰😊

👍 Merci! Back to the cave!

I love the atmosphere...and am looking forward to the next part. 😊

Great to hear! I'll need to check my "looking glass" to decipher the words, it's all jibber jabber right now ;) With any luck, we'll have part two by Wednesday!

Wow 🤩 Brilliant!!!

Thank you, Bohumila. Glad you liked it!

Is this a spin off of Alice in Wonderland? What's a Wolpertinger?

Expand full comment

More of a What happens after a girl goes poof when the queen wants her head? We were never told. Wolpertingers are... the answer! Or maybe not. There's a wiki for those Bavarian fabled nonsensical creatures. All/most players of Word of Warcraft know of Wolpertingers and have them as pets, my little contribution to spreading the folklore. ;)

Expand full comment

The Wolpertingers look scary. Will this story continue? Will the queen find the girl? Also, thanks for making tea the cool drink. 😉

Expand full comment

It would be better for head connectedness if she remains unfound. As for a part 2, let me have a look through my looking glass... ;)

Expand full comment

What a horrible queen! Looking forward for part to find out if head stays attached.

Great perils await, too perilous to recount, a bone chilling tale! No, I have nothing, we will find out together. ;)
