That first pic (and the longer version) are just amazing. The sky is so spectacular and perfect.
There was a manor that Jo and I visited when I was at a conference in Paris in 2019. A train journey not too far away. Not a castle, sadly, but it was very impressive and beautiful.
Thanks, Nathan! Yep, love the sky, like a painting. Many manors around here, which probably qualify as a chateau! That's how we get to that super high number.
Thanks, Kate! There is this little cell (not pictured) along the gardens, no bigger than 2x2m, barred by an iron door with etchings on the walls inside (from a time when there was no iron barring entrance). Definitely a setting for many a story!
These are great photos Alexander. I love castles. Particularly as we’ve got a fair few of them up here in Scotland too. Not as many as France though!
You also sent me down a rabbit hole as I was convinced we had visited a castle in France. And sure enough, I was right. Back in 2013 we visited this place : -
Thanks, Dan! Azay is lovely. Haven't been there. So many castles! And, yes, re: prints, I am narrowing down the print services. Pricing and commissions taken vary a lot, and so does print quality. Soon! Then it's Castlevania! ;) 👍🏼
45K?! That's a staggering number - no wonder the peasants went on a guillotine spree (a guillospree? A spreeotine?) Beautiful shots, A - I'm off castles, will you be doing cottages at any point? ;)
Always love your photography! Great theme (if it can be called a theme..) for FF24! Striking contrast in the black and whites, my fav is Château de Chenonceau image. Thanks as always for sharing your work. PS: Thanks again for the feedback on the camera, looking at some online this weekend based on your notes.
Stunning *and* educational. ;)

Love these places - distant memories for me now! Your photos give them new life. Setting for a story??

It was in the middle of summer so I remember it being very hot but the castle was stunning 🏰
We’ll need to pick up our conversation again about getting some of your photos printed 👍🏼

So beautiful. And so flat.
Thanks for the architectural history lesson.
Thanks a lot, Scott!

Thanks, Troy! 45k includes any and all small castle like cottages I suspect! ;) Which we must cover, too! All the cottages.
HOLD THE PHONE! Castle-like cottages? Now we’re talking….. 🤩
Got to come to France then! 😅

Thanks, Brian! Let me know what you decide!
Yes! More castlemania, please.
Thanks, Sharron! Glad you enjoyed the castles.
