Funny, before I even read "Ghost Rock" I looked at that picture and thought, "Ah, the inhabitants come to greet you." Spectacular images (and funny you should mention Moby-Dick, as you'll see in a couple of weeks ;)
I know how that feels Nathan. The last message I sent to you made no sense whatsoever but you were too kind to point it out I read it back and thought, “Who wrote that?!” 😁
hehehe, mmmm yeah Hasselblad Xpan, gimme gimme. One can dream... yeah the long exposure and people moving about makes for a nice effect, although the sand shifted, so the image isn't 100% sharp, you can see the double edges on the rocks, but hey, it's the ghosting effect! 😅
Beautiful photos, Alexander. Really appreciate the exposure on the black and whites as you headed towards the lighthouse, the stones/rocks have this gritty texture that stands out against in contrast to the ephemerality of the cloud wisps traversing the frame and the flatness of the ocean waters, left me with a sense of permanence or at least longevity of the hardened dignity of the natural formations of earth. Just love them!
Thanks, Brian! Love the comment. There's something about using black and white for these, brings out the essence, I guess. Unlike if I had left them in colour with that blue sky.
Wow! These are moody and mysterious. I feel as if I have been whisked away to very foreign land this morning... and I am still in my pajamas. Thank you for sharing these fine photos, Alexander.
Such stellar photographs! I hope things stabilize for you soon. We're happy to peruse your work whenever.
Thanks, Nadia. Stabilisation in progress. Meanwhile, I have more beans to grind and more words to write. Thanks for being here!
Your merch shirt motto: got beans to grind, words to write. 😉

Thanks, Troy. Glad you like the photos. Moby Dick everywhere, eh? Looking forward to the unintentional intertextual link!
High on my list to read for the first (!) time.
Meant to say in your other post Troy that I'm looking forward to your new series on books.
Great photos Alexander. Like Nathan says, that first one is like a giant leviathan bursting out of the water. Brilliantly done
Sorry to hear you’re still having issues re the flooding. Must be so frustrating. However, glad you’re working through it with the power of coffee 👍🏼😁
Thanks, Dan, that’s what I thought when I placed the camera!
I’ll need to buy more beans, but yeah, we’ll be getting there. Slowly.
Huzzah, a FOTO Friday. Always wonderful to read and look at.
Incredible photos. The black and white makes it seem almost alien, like a strange fog upon the land with creatures creating out of the surface.
Thanks, Nathan. Long exposure produces that mesmerising effect, esp. when converted to bw, like frosted glass. Glad you like them!
Cresting*** damn autocorrect.
Autocorrect gets you every timeah! 😅

Haha I my brain must have made sense of it because I don't remember. ;)
Panoramic and sharp, but became a dinosaur to me for action shots. I like slight blur, … brings mystery
You need an Xpan 🤓, … remembering mine sold to one of those pirates. 🏴☠️ oh, pirate islands by the way. I like those shots very much

Very inspiring shots. Moby Dick such a beautiful book. And video super
Thanks, George! Apprecate you stopping by. Glad you like them!

Thanks, Sharron. So happy you like them. The best way to start the day: with a magical journey! ;)
