This is a Special Edition of FotoFriday. Less text, more photos. The text can be found in the three previous posts. I thought I’d add these DSLR camera shots now while they are still “fresh."
Labuan Bajo | Bali | Bandung
Starting with a sunset…

Bali
A three-image pano stitch (handheld) of Mount Batur and lake. Last eruption in 2000 (see the black part).
Uluwatu Monkey Business. Should you ever visit the temple, remove everything, necklaces, any jewellery, and glasses, they love glasses. Dozens had theirs stolen while we were there, including my son. Spot the pizza? They don’t like pizza, bring nuts, or better yet, don’t go inside the temple, there’s nothing to see there anyway, besides thieving monkeys.
Cleanest Nusa Dua
Different parts of the beach, different outfits for the cleaners, keeping the beaches clean from morning to sunset. There’s always a tourist who’ll keep them busy…
Bandung
Sulfuric pits and otherworldly volcanic craters. Mount Tangkuban Perahu last erupted in 2019.
Onwards to Orchid Forest with ping pong balls on strings.
Where are the orchids? Shrug.
After a round of minigolf inside this orchidless forest, we went to have some ATV fun, followed by a horrible late lunch and then went back to enjoy the view from our room.
I realize there are no images from Jakarta, so let’s end this as it started, with a sunset.
You can guess why it’s all grey. A few seconds later, the grey takes over…
Hold on a minute. We can’t end this newsletter on such a sour, grey note, foreshadowing the grey, mouldy images I would take the next day of the water damage in my son’s room. No, we shan’t. Let’s end this on a high note.
May this butterfly's wings bring good fortune to someone in need.
Tempus Fugit. Use it well.

Oh those naughty monkeys! Such stellar images, Alexander. I'm sorry your home got flooded. Hang in there.
Loved this, Alexander 👏! Great photography game going here.
I was 3 times in Ubud and was afraid of visiting The Monkey Forest until my 3rd trip because of all the monkey stories I had heard. One yoga girl even said a monkey lifted her foot to steal her flip flop. 🩴
Fortunately the visit didn’t involve any such monkey business for me.
