I absolutely love the black and white bridge shots! The contours created by the cabling carve out the rectangular frame of the image and just isolate fragments into angular ”cropped” sections, and bring this rigid geometric beauty to them. Glad you are keeping up with your craft while you are traveling and continuing to share with us.
Great words and photos as usual, Alexander. “Last exit” is probably my favourite as my mind immediately begins to wonder what that person is doing on the bridge. Idea for a story maybe? 😁
We’ve discussed before about the magic in photographs being found in the peripheries when you see what almost escaped the cameras snaring lens 🤔
I’m currently in Lausanne on Lake Geneva and it’s just stunning. You’ve inspired me to take some photos that I might share once I’m back 👍🏼
Thanks, Dan! Love your thoughts and am looking forward to your pictures! I’ve never been to Lake Geneva. As for “Last Exit” I think the slightly inflected head signals all sorts of story threads, pensive, exhausted, ruminating, and a myriad of other states of mind… many stories contained in one image, waiting to be written.
I think there might be someone else in the picture who we can’t see. Are they behind one of the pillars? Maybe threatening him in some way. That’s maybe why he looks so pensive 🤔
I was going to attach a photo but again realised you can’t attach photos in replies 🙄
Lovely shots. I really like the amount of sky contrasting with the minimal part of the bridge and the stark angles of the suspension wire (whatever it's called) slanting across the images. I think #3 is my favourite.
Photo 5 ! So many lines and angles. A real beauty!
Thanks, Sharron. Yes, I quite liked all the possible angles and ways and that one jogger walking down the ramp. Glad you like them, too!
The photographs are fantastic, and so is the poem!
Thanks, Nadia. Appreciate your kind words!

Thanks, Brian. Yes, the cabling! Glad you feel that way about the composition, it was what I was hoping for.

You can in chat! I’ll open up a Bridges thread :) need to see those threats!
What a magical journey! The titles change it all - especially "return" :)
Thanks, Kate! Images & words ;)

Thanks, Nathan. The wires are what makes the image, and what drew my eye when watching people pass underneath them. Glad you like them!
