Thanks, Barrie. Glad you like them. The last image is one of my favourites. Also, the Eiffel Tower picture still happened, I put it in the Chat Thread. And thanks for the restack!
Hey Alexander ... I was wondering if I could use your excellent image 'Together' as a starter for my next 'Double Espresso', a 50-word and a 100-word story summoned from the same prompt. Such an evocative image. Duly credited in the piece, of course. A collaboration, of sorts.
Lovely photos, and words filling in all of the other gaps very nicely. That last (outtake) photo... sometimes they are the ones that resonate loudest. Beautiful.
Thanks, Matt. Yes, the Departed Man is one of my favourites. I did a triptych, too. 1x focus on rails, 2 the man turns around midway and 3 the one you see. Happy, you liked it!
These are wonderful as always, Alexander. I love the one of the couple in the park enjoying, what I would like to think is the sunshine and a comfortable silence.
The ones outside the opera house and down the stairs remind me of shots out of movies as that’s where my head is always at 😁. Maybe Godfather 3 and The Exorcist 🤔
Great tunes as well. Dire Straits are one of the best 👍🏼
Thanks, Dan. Love your interpretation, and yes, spot on about the two under the tree. Interesting choice of films! Why the Godfather 3? Do you have a specific scene in mind?
It once happened that a juror at an exhibition of one of my photos went up to me and told me that my "Into the Woods" picture reminded her of Jean Cocteau's La Belle et la Bête (1941). I was curious and went and checked the scene she was referring to, and lo and behold, it was indeed quite similar.
So, I’m not a huge fan of Godfather 3 but it does have moments. One is the scene at the very end when they’re leaving the opera house and Mary, Michael’s daughter, gets shot and killed on the steps and Michael screams in despair but it’s a completely silent scene. Just this man trapped in his own nightmare.
Anyway, the woman closest to the camera has a kind of shocked look on her face as if seeing something horrifying and it immediately made me think of that. Again, probably more to do with me 😁
It's been forever that I have watched The Godfather, I have the Collector's Edition DVD Boxset collecting dust on my shelf, as one does... it's great to see these intertextual references and how they are triggered by a word, a sound or an image. Thanks, Dan!
Thank you, Nathan. No reflections this time around, but I have some shots lined up for FF16. I felt I leap into March with a bit of raw street photography. Glad you like them!
words and images, seamlessly woven, transporting the reader. What a fabulous post.

I can see why ... perspective AND patience. Picture perfect!
☺️ merci, merci. Sometimes, it pays off to stop and pause...
More often than we allow ourselves
I love how moving these photographs are while being still.
Thanks, Nadia. And welcome back!
Thank you, sir!

Of course, with pleasure, mon ami. Looking forward to it!
That’s very kind. I have a ferry journey tonight and a notepad and pencil for company!
May the words flow. Safe travels!
Merci! A bientôt

Maybe a topic for another FF post.

Ahhh, I see what you mean. Stairs, people, facial expressions! It's a good scene, you referring to this one, right? https://imgur.com/6MzINSN | https://imgur.com/Lp9RHZm

That’s the one 👍🏼. Yeah, it’s pretty powerful
Think parts 1 and 2 are great. Though replacing Robert Duvall with George Hamilton in part 3 was an early indication things might not go so smoothly 😁
I had to look it up because I couldn't remember at all, it may be I never watched Part III... 😱
Yeah, casting is important, esp. for Carter! ;)
Enviable photography et des mots attirant!
Merci beaucoup, Susie! Happy you like it, et bienvenue chez TFTD! 🙏
What an 👁️ you have, A - superb...!
The Eye of AI... Thanks, my friend. Glad you enjoy the photos!
Magnifiques, mon cher-- sensibles et évocatrices.
Merci, mon amie. Glad you like them!
Magical photographs!
Thanks, Priya! 🙏
So poetic! So much said here about together/alone and observers in the spaces between. Really enjoyed this, Alexander!
Thanks, Kate. Glad you enjoyed this little excursion. The camera doesn't lie, they say.
Stunning, as always. The first one is especially magical with the couple.
