Thanks for the shout out, Alexander and for the reminder of what a great tune that is from Moore. I own the 7” single which will be stored “safely” somewhere in my garage 😁
Run for Cover, Wild Frontier and Still got the Blues are all my favourites of his.
Anyway, great photos again. The first one of the boy on the lake is really something special and the imagery on Sunset Hill is stunning. The fashion shoot certainly looks a bit wet and wild so glad no one got seriously hurt!
My pleasure, Daniel. Thanks for reading! At first, I thought of Deep Purple due to the "Fire in the Sky" in Sunset Hill, but I always came back to Moore in the end.
Great story, great pics (read: stunning pics). What an adventure! The broken camera sounds nasty and I'm sure it would have been heartbreaking, but ultimately better than a broken bone!
I think my favourite here is the sunset (along with the associated shots in the flckr album). The colours through the clouds offset against the green of the hills really does it for me. Beautiful country.
Breathtakingly beautiful, and the place we were staying, the host, she quit Germany to run this luxury resort at Lake Toba, and she did her own coffee roasting. Best. Coffee. Ever.
Must read Intertextuality... SUPERB visuals as always, Alexander!
Thank you, Troy! Much appreciated. 🙏
So much meta, intertextuality, layers...
Also the photographs are gorgeous and make you stop to think. Not all great nature photography does that. Its both beautiful and different.
Thanks, Kate! Layers upon layers! Maybe too much so... I promise I will reduce the layers drastically for next Friday! ;)
I meant to say in my comment (so now I'm just going to say it here instead) that the footnote on intertextuality led me to a new word: calque!
oui, oui tu peux calquer ca. :) don't copy, though. it's not cool! 😅
No need to reduce!
Nothing does “less is more” better than... spoiler alert: Minimalism. Coming Next Friday.
Do you have a deep dive podcast into intertextuality coming up sometime, Kate? Or a joint one with Alexander? ;)
Now, there's an idea! Intertextually speaking or interfigurally, intermedially, hypertextually even!
And thanks for the shoutout!
Most welcome!

Thanks, Nathan!
Amazing. Would like to visit.
I would like to go back! 😀
Is the Daniel O'Donnell you've mentioned the country artist? It's hard to tell from his Substack profile.
It's Daniel O'Donnell who writes Dan's Deliberations, I don't think the two are related. Or maybe they are! 😅
Ahh. There's a famous singer with the same name!
Indeed there is, I did not know!
Stunning photos of beautiful locations. Thank you for sharing this!
Thanks, Kristi! Appreciate it. In case you want to see more, you can find the other entries here: https://alexanderipfelkofer.substack.com/s/foto-friday
